Mood: wheres the wind?
|
5th October 2003
Windsurfing: Golf course, borth Wind Direction: w, nw Wind Stength: 12 - 14 knots Surf / Sea State: started with 1 foot messy surf Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Was first on the beach again other than the campers which were still alseep
as was the wind. Had a walk up the beach along to the point and came back
via the dunes and put some more footprints in the dune that me and Al
defaced on the last FON trip.
The wind picked up as people started to disapear home.
Wasn't really enough wind but rigged up 7m and 112 lt board (on flat water
would of been 8.5 and big techno)
Made my way out over the mush and breaking waves but just wasn't enough
wind to get going managed to ride a coulpe of waves though. Had a stand
about on the beach and watched Al launch his kite but not before some
little rat of a dog cocked its leg on it.
Wind picked up a little so went back out got a couple of planning runs in
was a bit hairy over the swell and keeping the board on the water was
difficult and landing the jumps even harder. Managed one gybe on the
outside no where near planning though was just happy to stay dry. Had some
good runs coming back in sailing along the beach on the flat water between
the breaking waves.
Then waves seamed to get bigger and the wind got very gusty made things
very difficult I would try and get out through the white water but the
board would just stick luff up and sink on me then I got nailed by the next
wave coming through. Decided to call it a day when the I got nailed and the
board popped back up and gave me an uppercut any boxer would of been proud
of just nicked the the side of my tougue so was spitting blood for a
while.(while I still had my teeth)
The remaining FON visitors headed back to Al's new house for tea and
biscuits.
As it was time to head home the wind picked back up as you can guess Al
went for another sail , I was temped but I had a 200 drive home to look
forward to.
